Mark opens with a man crying out in the wilderness and closes with a fisherman finally saying out loud what the whole section has been building toward: you are the Messiah. In between, Mark gives us miracle after miracle, confrontation after confrontation, parable after parable. All of it is asking the same question. Who is this man? The crowds are amazed. The religious leaders are threatened. The disciples are confused. And Jesus keeps doing things that only God can do.
